Metal Fabricator/Welder (Level 3)

Power-Sprays has been manufacturing specialist equipment for over 60 years and is a leading manufacturer of specialist equipment for producing Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC). Our subsidiary, PS Engineering, offers bespoke engineering and manufacturing services.

Job Description:

We are looking for a candidate to join our thriving and dynamic Fabrication shop. You will learn many engineering skills and operate various machinery including pillar drills, guillotines, brake presses, cut-off saws, TIG and MIG welders. A four-year Advanced Level Apprenticeship in metal fabrication/welding will provide you with key production skills for our range of fabricated parts. You will also learn how to tackle new bespoke components to be manufactured. The role will include on-site work at various locations. You will be trained to use a range of machines and develop skills such as:

• Read and interpret relevant data and documentation used to produce fabricated components
• Assemble various components prior to welding
• Welding, cleaning, and inspection of fabricated components prior to painting
• Use of various machine and hand tools
• Use of overhead cranes
• Use of handheld plasma cutting and oxy/propane cutting

Qualifications Required:
4 GCSEs - Maths, English & Science at Grade 4-9 (or equivalent)

Future Prospects:
Completion of the Apprenticeship is designed to be recognided by relevant Professional Engineering Institutions at the appropriate level of professional registration (EngTech).

Working Week: Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am – 1:00pm.
Duration: 4 Years
Hourly Rate: £8.25

Things to Consider:
You will need to make your travel arrangements to Yate and Avonmouth.

Full training provided from Swatpro Academy, BEMA. You will also receive training on-site from our skilled Fabricators. The first 3 months of training will be carried out in Yate at the Swatpro Academy, and you will then be workshop based, attending the BEMA training centre on day release.
