Overview of Role:

We are looking for a Mechanical Apprentice to work in the Rebuild Center and, building, overhauling, and servicing packaging machinery systems to meet our customers’ needs and requirements.

Entry requirements: Candidates must have good GCSE qualifications in core subjects. Also have a keen interest in modern day technology, particularly mechanical engineering, with a view to developing long-term skills, to include electrical wiring, PLC / Electrical programming.

Experience of working with the following would be advantageous:

  • Mechanical components and systems
  • MS Word and Excel office software
  • MS Outlook and Power Point
  • Engineering Design software
  • Ability to read / interpret technical Engineering drawings
  • Problem solving; ability to visualise a problem or situation and think logically to resolve it.

General Requirements:

  • The candidate should have a pleasant and helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work responsibly, with or without direct supervision.
  • Contribute positively to the overall morale of team members.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day management of Health and Safety in line with the Company’s Health and Safety policy, to ensure a safe working environment.

Task and Training details:

As above, the aim is for the apprentices to pass their training and become a full-time employee as a journey man engineer within the site or the refurb centre

Working Week: 37.5 Hours per week, Monday to Friday 7.5 hours a day with a .75 unpaid meal break

Duration: 4 Years

Hourly Rate: £9.48

Qualifications required

4 GCSEs - Math’s, English & Science at Grade 4-9 essential. (or equivalent)

Additional Information:

Annual site increase will be included if awarded, and increase will occur on completion of annual exams etc.

Future Prospects:

To be our full time Machinist with the ability to assist other departments.
