Apprentice Test Technician

VEQTER Ltd is a leading-edge spin-out company from the University of Bristol employing unique technology and expertise for residual stress measurement, analysis, and management in engineering components.

Overview of Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of residual stress experts carrying out unique testing techniques on components from all engineering sectors worldwide. The candidate will learn conventional machining skills before specialising in wire-EDM machining. The candidate will then use those skills to support, understand, learn and carry out all of our residual stress measurement techniques through in-house training.

Paid Hours per week: 35

Working hours per day: 8am – 4pm Monday - Friday

Working week pattern: Monday - Friday

Duration is 48 Months. First year full time college attendance, followed by day release.

Qualifications Required

GCSE- A-C/ 4-9 or Equivalent in Maths and English Essential.

A-Level - Maths and/or Science Preferred.

Hourly Rate: £8.40 per hour

Future Prospects:

At the end of the apprenticeship the candidate would progress into a permanent role as a Residual Stress Test Technician.

Once qualified, the candidate will have the opportunity to travel abroad to carry out measurements at client facilities.
