Every Apprentice Leaves With a Toolkit They Made Themselves
We're pleased to see our training centre featured in Machinery Market this month.
We've now invested in eleven manual machines from Bristol-based MACH Machine Tools — six L-1340 lathes and five VS-1 mills — all installed at our purpose-built centre in Yate.
Working in partnership with Swatpro, our Level 2 and Level 3 apprentices spend a full ten months with us in year one, rotating through turning, milling and fitting in six-week blocks.
And every part they machine is a working tool they'll go on to use — thread vices, V-blocks, Go/No Go gauges, toolmakers' clamps. They leave with a toolkit they built themselves.
It's the kind of practical, industry-relevant training our member companies tell us they need.
