BEMA Ltd. Fire Risk Assessment Process

Stage 1 Carry Out Survey Record Information on Survey Checklist. Take measurements for Plan of building, and draw plan. If possible use the plan that was drawn by the Fire Officer when the company had a Fire Certificate if one had been issued. (Check accuracy just in case there are any alterations)
Stage 2 Risk Assessment. Complete computer assessment to give Risk rating working through the four steps.
Step 1 – Identify potential fire hazards in the workplace.
Step 2 – Identify people at significant risk.
Step 3 – Evaluate the risks – Can hazards be removed or reduced?
Step 4 – Adequacy of fire safety measures.
Submit the summary of Fire Risk Assessment with the report.
Stage 3 Proposed Actions to remove or reduce risks Write report of actions to be taken to reduce risks with target dates, and keep a record of actual dates on completion
Stage 4 Proposed Actions to improve fire safety measures Write report of actions to be taken to improve the fire safety measures that are in place
Stage 5 Submit Fire Risk Assessment to the company Agree Emergency Plan and who will carry out the actions that require attention from the assessment. Set review dates to monitor the Fire Risk Assessment.
