Code A Weld was established in 1982 originally as an independent test house providing testing services to the welding industry.
Whilst maintaining non-destructive and mechanical testing facilities the company has expanded into other related areas. From initial review, welding procedure and welder approval, through to final inspection and testing.

Code A Weld is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) both as a Test Body and as an Inspection Body. The inspection Body accreditation was to gain acceptance from the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (formerly the Department of Trade & industry, D.T.I.) as a Recognised Third Party Organisation (RTPO) to carry out work for the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). Code a Weld also witnesses and tests welding to BCAR A8-A10 (formerly the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)).
